We want YOU to serve on a BAAA Committee!

Committees are one of the most productive tools an association has to accomplish the organization’s goals and objectives. Whether you are chairing a committee or are a committee member, you face the challenge of getting involved in the work the committee was formed to accomplish. The recommendations of a committee often have a direct impact on the decisions made by the officers and the board of directors of the association. Click through the committees below to find one that interests you. Click 'Register Now' to apply for the committee of your choice. A BAAA staff member will be in touch shortly regarding your selection. 2026 committee selection will begin in Dec 2025.

Member Engagement (ME) | Emerging Leaders | Community Service

This committee is responsible for overseeing the association’s educational programs. It helps develop and plan seminars, classes, and workshops for the association.

Meetings: Committee may meet in person or electronically and have a half-day planning meeting once a year.

Membership Subcommittees:  Maintenance Education task force and Career Development task force

One of the most important committees in the association is the Membership Committee. Its job is to add new members and also to retain the existing membership.  These things are accomplished by working renewals, prospects, and subcommittees.

Meetings: Generally meets monthly via Zoom or in-person

Membership Subcommittees:  Student housing recruitment, Senior housing recruitment, and BAAA Ambassadors.

The Programs Sponsorship Committee works on selling sponsorship for the many events that take place during the year helping to get sponsorships, attendees, spectators, prizes, and exposure for each of them. Sponsorships are a crucial part of non-dues revenue and allow us to keep registration fees for events affordable.

These events include, but are not limited to:

  • BAAA Golf Outing
  • Volleyball Tournament
  • Business Exchange
  • Dinner Meetings
  • Maintenance Appreciation

Meetings: Generally meets monthly via Zoom or in person.

The Government Affairs Committee focuses on guiding the Association's efforts towards advocacy with local legislative activities affecting the multi-housing industry. The committee helps set advocacy priorities and will meet with elected officials and their staff to help foster a better understanding of our industry and the impact on the Bay Area.

Meetings: Generally meets monthly via Zoom or in-person

Membership Subcommittees:  Affordable Housing Task Force and APAC Fundraising Task Force

BAAA is committed to providing an environment where all members feel included, valued, and seen. The professionals that work within the apartment industry, and the residents who call our apartments home, represent a vibrant and diverse fabric of backgrounds and life experiences. This fabric is a major factor in what makes this industry, and our associations, so special and unique. The ME Committee has taken steps to ensure that all are being recognized and works to integrate best practices into the multi-family industry.

Meetings: Generally meets monthly via Zoom or in person.

If you are a rising star in the rental housing industry (5yrs or less) and want a place to meet people and ask questions, this committee is perfect for you. The Bay Area Apartment Association’s Emerging Leaders Committee is a new, energetic committee that seeks to engage the future leaders of the apartment industry through networking, education, and giving back to the community. This committee gives the leaders of the rental housing industry the opportunity to connect and grow as we help shape the future of our industry.

Meetings: Generally meets monthly via Zoom or in person.

This committee is responsible for community outreach and corporate social responsibility efforts including sweat equity projects, collection drives, and events that benefit local non-profit organizations. The committee's main role is to find out what our members are doing in the community and help share that news.

Meetings: Generally meets monthly via Zoom or in person.
