Hillsborough County Raises Mobility and Park Impact Fees

Impact Fees Increased in Response to Pending State Legislation

On March 25, the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) voted 5-2 to raise Mobiltiy and Park impact fees.  New mobility and park impact fees were approved in 2020 based on consultant reports which determine the maximum the BOCC is allowed to charge for these fees.  In both cases the BOCC in 2020 chose to gradually increase the fees over two and half years.  Citing pending state legislation that could limit municipalities' ability to raise impact fees in the future (HB 337 and SB 750), the BOCC voted to increase mobility fees to the maximum allowed and to increase park fees to 75% of what is allowed.  These new fees will take effect June 30, 2021.  Fee tables comparing current fees to the new increases are provided below and relevant consultant reports are available below.
