Emerging Leaders Mentorship Program
The BAAA Emerging Leaders Mentorship program connects emerging professionals with seasoned mentors who can
offer guidance and support for their career. With a
5-month commitment, each participant will meet with their match virtually or in person at least 3 times from the May kickoff call through October.
Program Overview
Personalized Mentorship: Get career guidance from a seasoned industry professional in a one-on-one setting on skills like goal setting and problem solving
Flexible Meetings: Mentors & Mentees will connect virtually or in person for an hour, based on what works best for your schedule
Monthly Check-Ins: BAAA will help kick start your conversations with monthly check-ins that feature prompts to facilitate conversations. Beginning in May, you will be expected to meet virtually or in person at least 3 times with your mentor through October.

- March 1 - April 30: Application period open. Submit your application here!
- May 4th: Selected participants receive notification + next steps
- May 12: Meet your Match Zoom Event! (Applicants will receive an email after submitting their application regarding the details of this event)
- May 28: Mentorship Meetup #1 at The Joinery in Lakeland - Get to know your match in person!
- June: Check In: Goal-Setting
- July: Check In: Problem-Solving + Mentorship Meetup #2 at Christmas in July Mixer!
- August: Check In: Soft Skills & Career Road Map
- September: Check In: Celebrate your Successes & Reflection
- October 21: 2027 Committee Rush & Mentorship Meetup #3
- November 6: Mentorship Program Wrap-up & Group Photo at Holiday Party 6:30 PM!
Participant Expectations
Mentee Expectations
This program requires a 5-month commitment, you will be expected to meet virtually or in person at least 3 times with your mentor. You must be a member of BAAA.
Successful Mentees should:
- Stay Engaged: Commit to being an active and involved participant in the program.
- Be Prepared: Approach each meeting with clear goals, questions, or challenges to discuss.
- Welcome Feedback: Stay open to constructive insights, guidance, and fresh perspectives from your mentor.
- Take the Lead: Proactively schedule meetings and maintain regular communication with your mentor.
- Maintain Professionalism: Respect your mentor’s time, expertise, and confidentiality
Mentor Expectations
We’re looking for experienced multifamily professionals who want to share their knowledge with the next generation of industry professionals. To qualify as a mentor, you must either have 10 years of experience in the industry, hold a designation or have a particular area of expertise.

FAQ : How will mentors and mentees be matched?
- Mentors and Mentees will answer a series of questions during the application process that staff will use to match pairings.
- The program is open to Property Management and Supplier Partners, and industry matching will be taken into account when pairing mentors to mentees.
- If we have an uneven group of mentors or mentees, we will give priority to those who applied first and encourage matched applicants to apply again in the future.
