Rental Assistance Updates for Hillsborough County
Below are a few announcements on how residents in Hillsborough County who have been impacted by the COVID pandemic could apply for rental assistance:
Hillsborough’s R3 Program Update
Hillsborough County continues to provide rental assistance to eligible COVID impacted residents through their R3 program. Information regarding eligibility and the application process for both residents and landlords is available at www.HCFLGov.net/R3HomeHelp. You can also contact the County’s ERAP Call Center at (866) 375-9114 if you have any questions regarding the program.
Additionally, Hillsborough’s Social Services staff are providing more options for residents to seek assistance in completing application forms. These include:
- Holding office hours on several days at Ragan Park and Barksdale Senior Center. Details are available on THIS FLYER.
- Arranging with apartment communities to hold office hours at their community if they have at least 3 residents who could use help with their applications. If you would like to host Social Services staff at your community, please contact Eric Garduno at GAD@baaahq.org who can help arrange the County’s visit for you.
Housing and Education Alliance Rental and Mortgage Assistance
The Housing and Education Alliance, a Tampa-based nonprofit organization that provides financial literacy, homeownership education, and housing counseling, is providing up to $7,500/ 3-months in rental and mortgage assistance to eligible residents in unincorporated Hillsborough County, Plant City, and Temple Terrace (City of Tampa residents are not currently served by this program). To be eligible, residents must be adversely affected by the COVID pandemic and household income must be at or below 80% of the Area Median Income. Payments are made directly to the landlord/mortgage company.
