Hurricane Irma: Important Resources for all BAAA Members

IMPORTANT HURRICANE IRMA RESOURCES
FOR BAAA MEMBERS
Updated: September 12, 2017
We've weathered the storm!
First, we want to make sure our members are doing well. It’s been a really trying couple of weeks preparing for, weathering, and now recovering from Hurricane Irma. We hope that you and your families emerged healthy, happy, and with relatively little ill effects from the storm. About ½ of the BAAA team is still without power as of this morning, but are otherwise unscathed.
- Rather than returning items to the store, we encourage you to donate any leftover 'hurricane stock' items you may have to The Salvation Army or locally to Volunteer Polk.
- If you wish, monetary donations for those impacted by Irma, they can be made to a variety of reputable charities here.
- In preparation for Hurricane Irma, the SS American Victory was relocated to an evacuation berth. Therefore, we will be rescheduling our September 21st NAA PAC Event for sometime later this year. Stay tuned for a new date.
- The Florida Apartment Association has developed a robust online disaster recover resource (https://www.faahq.org/news/
hurricane-irma-recovery- resources). Information posted on the site ranges from housing availability resources to emergency management contacts for each of Florida's 67 counties. The resource is updated frequently as new information becomes available.
