Electrical issues are part of everyday maintenance. This 6-hour course provides practical knowledge to help maintenance professionals understand, safely work with, and troubleshoot common electrical systems found in residential and multifamily properties.

The course covers electrical terminology, basic theory, safety practices, and Lockout/Tagout, along with the components technicians encounter regularly—from switches, breakers, GFCIs, and AFCIs to basic panel components.

TAKE IT TO THE LAB

Get hands-on with wiring, testing, identifying, and troubleshooting electrical components. The course also explores HVAC electrical systems, including contactors, relays, capacitors, transformers, and thermostats.

SKILLS YOU’LL TAKE BACK TO THE JOB

  • Recognize electrical components and understand their functions
  • Apply proper electrical safety and LOTO procedures
  • Perform basic wiring and testing
  • Troubleshoot common electrical issues
  • Understand the electrical components used in HVAC systems
