NAA Action Alert: Tell Congress to Provide Rental Assistance and Not Another Eviction Moratorium
Congress needs to hear from you today!
Congress is currently considering another relief package for people impacted by the COVID emergency. This will likely be the last relief package for the year, and their work on it will probably be concluded by the end of July.
The National Apartment Association has issued an action alert requesting everyone who is part of the multi-family industry to write to the U.S. Congress to oppose the continuation of the eviction moratorium and support rental assistance for our residents in any national legislation.
As the NAA has noted:
An eviction moratorium may keep residents in their homes in the short term, but it will just put them months behind in their payments that they will struggle to ever make up. And months of lost rent will cripple our industry’s ability to protect our communities, pay our employees and meet our own financial obligations.
Now is the time to act. Please follow this link and add your voice to others across the country to ask Congress to prioritize rental assistance for those who need it, and not continue a moratorium that does not solve any of problems our residents and our industry are facing.
