De Soto County is providing rental assistance to residents who have been financially impacted by the COVID emergency.   Up to $2,000 in rental assistance is available to eligible residents. To be eligible, the household must have suffered an economic loss due to COVID-19 and it must be below 120% Area Median Income.

It is strongly encouraged that applications be submitted through the County’s Neighborly Web Portal:

For more information on the program, please contact De Soto County COVID-19 Relief Program at 863-491-7574, visit their website at https://desotobocc.com/?/cares, or consult the County’s FAQ on the program available here: https://desotobocc.com/images/uploads/Individual_Assistance_FAQs_Aug2020.pdf

Landlords will be expected to provide W-9 information.  County officials will reach out to each landlord to collect this information as applications are processed.

If your resident is unable to complete an electronic application, libraries and various social service organizations in the County are available to help the resident complete an application for assistance.  Your residents can call 863-491-7574 to inquire which organization would be the best to help them complete their applications.  If this is not an option, your residents can request a paper application.

Applications will be accepted through October 15.
