This course provides an overview of common pool and spa equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, chemical feeders, and circulation systems. Participants will learn how these components work together to maintain proper water quality and system performance.

Designed for maintenance professionals and property teams, this session will also cover basic troubleshooting tips, routine maintenance practices, and key considerations for keeping equipment running safely and efficiently while meeting standards set by the Florida Department of Health.

Lauren Broom
Owner of  Space Coast Pool Schools

Lauren Broom is the owner of Space Coast Pool School, LLC for the past 10 years. She attended the University of Central Florida earning a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. Currently a Registered Sanitarian (certification in public health), Lauren has over 16 years experience in the inspection of commercial pools in Florida as a commercial public pool inspector from the Florida Department of Health, along with recreational waterborne disease outbreak investigations. Lauren holds a spot on the PHTA CPO Advisory Board and a spot on the PHTA-2 Standard Writing Committee. She also is a adjunct instructor at Valencia College.
