You are invited to join a discussion with St. Petersburg city officials focused on two items that will have a significant impact on future multifamily development in the City:
- Changes related to the City’s Coastal High Hazard Area and its implications for building requirements and
- the completion of a study that supports a possible impact fee to fund affordable housing initiatives.
The meeting will take place this Friday, January 31, at 10AM in the Conference Room of Fusion 1560 Apartments, located at 1560 Central Ave N, St. Petersburg, FL 33705.
Legislative action could occur on these matters as early as next month. A copy of this invitation and short backgrounder on these issues is attached, as well as detailed information on the CHHA and a copy of the impact fee study. Attending on behalf of the City will be Rob Gerdes, Administrator for Neighborhood Affairs, and Elizabeth Abernathy, Director of Planning and Development Services. This discussion will give developers and all BAAA members an opportunity to learn more about the City’s plans related to these two issues, as well as an opportunity to share our thoughts and/or concerns with these proposals.
Please RSVP to BAAA Government Affairs Director Eric Garduno at GAD@baaahq.org
if you plan on attending.
