Trade Show Fraud & Exhibitor Updates

Posted By: Krystal Humphrey Events,
It has come to our attention that many of you have been receiving emails from scammers posing as BAAA staff or contractors offering "attendee" lists for the 2021 BAAA Trade Show. This is not the first time they have done this to us, and many other organizations, but they seem to be increasing in scope and many are even using the BAAA or trade show logo to help sell their false products.
We want to make it very clear that these individuals are NOT part of our organization nor do they have any legitimate lists to offer. Anything they sell will at best have faulty information (since we do not make our records public), and at worst may contain dangerous files and viruses to infect your system.
Official emails from BAAA will always come from someone with the BAAA.org domain. To see the entire list of our team, you can click here. The only trade show emails besides ours that you need to pay attention to are from our official decorator, Gulf Coast Expo, and they will never try to sell you a list but rather just make sure you have what you need for your booth.
Just a reminder that all of our members can access the BAAA member list by simply being logged into the website. Our exhibitors will all receive an attendee list after the show at no additional charge. This is NOT something we will ever have a third party selling to our exhibitors before or after the show.
Again, we apologize that you are being targeted for this scam and as we find out about these different companies trying to perpetuate the fraud, we are reporting them to the appropriate government agencies.
We appreciate your support and are excited about this year's trade show! If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to anyone on the BAAA team and we will be happy to assist.
