Emergency Rental Assistance Updates - Polk, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Our Florida
Rental Assistance Updates - June 1, 2021
Polk County just launched a new Emergency Rental Assistance Program for residents who have experienced economic hardship due to the COVID emergency. The program will provide assistance to eligible residents to cover up to 12 months of past due rent and utilities and 3 months of prospective rent, with a cap of up to $12,000. Either residents or landlords can initiate the application process. For more information, please visit the Polk County ERAP Page or their FAQ Page. You can also share THIS FLYER with residents.
Last week the Florida Apartment Association hosted THIS WEBINAR focused on the Our Florida program, the Emergency Rentals Assistance Program implemented by the State. The program is open to eligible residents throughout Florida, including in counties that have an existing rental assistance program. Eligible residents may receive up to $2,000/month in rental and utility assistance, with a cap of up to $15,000. Landlords may apply on behalf of residents, however landlords will need to get resident sign off.
Pinellas County has released THIS FLYER intended to give landlords a brief overview of their Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
ICYMI, BAAA organized THIS WEBINAR on Sarasota County’s Emergency Rental Assistance Program. The webinar walked through eligibility requirements, as well how to use the Neighborly web portal, the electronic interface used to submit application materials.
