Update - Pinellas Emergency Rental Assistance Program

Posted By: Eric Garduño Advocacy News , COVID Rental Assistance ,

The Pinellas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) is scheduled to begin taking resident and landlord application materials on March 31st. The County organized a webinar on March 12, 2021, to better inform landlords of the new program, which is AVAILABLE HERE.

The program will provide up to 12 months of rental assistance (no dollar cap) to eligible Pinellas County residents (including City of St. Pete) who can demonstrate a COVID-related hardship.  To be eligible, households must be at or below 80% Area Median Income (AMI) based on household size, and priority will be give to households who are below 50% AMI.  An AMI chart for Pinellas County is available below.

While landlords cannot apply on behalf of residents, they will have their own access to the application portal where they can upload required documents like copies of leases and W9s and check the status of applications submitted by residents.  Additionally, there will be a mechanism for landlords to email residents an invitation to apply for assistance.

Additional information about the program is available on this FAQ PAGE.  BAAA will continue to provide you updates on this program as information becomes available.
