The Bay Area Apartment Association (BAAA) currently represents over 270,000+ apartment homes in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. We are a 501c(6) not-for-profit trade association serving the interests of the rental housing industry. BAAA offers quality educational programs, strong local advocacy support, and phenomenal networking opportunities.
Our membership is comprised of individual owners, property management companies, apartment communities, and suppliers who provide products and services for the rental housing industry.

Our Mission and History
BAAA provides advocacy, education, and leadership, while cultivating partnerships within the rental housing community.
The Bay Area Apartment Association (BAAA) was created to extend one of the longest-running associations of apartment owners, managers, and related professionals in the country. Born as a merger in 1988 between the Pinellas Apartment Association (first chartered on June 7, 1928, as the St. Petersburg Apartment House Association, Inc.) and the Tampa Apartment Association, and chartered in 1963, BAAA today represents multi-family rental units in the Greater Tampa Bay region.
BAAA from its inception has worked to provide efficient and consistent service to the renting public by providing owners, managers, and suppliers with information, education, and training designed to enhance their professional skills. Working with the Florida Apartment Association (FAA) and National Apartment Association (NAA), BAAA continues today to provide quality training with topical seminars on issues such as the Fair Housing Act, lead paint, and mold and provides monitoring and advocacy on legislative and regulatory activities that impact owners and managers.
Since 1928, the Association has realized the benefit of working with civic and elected leaders to assure the industry’s ability to provide clean, affordable housing for those who seek to live in apartment homes. Those efforts continue today with BAAA’s involvement with local chambers of commerce, governments, NGOs, and other coalitions and associations.
