2012 Special Achievement Awards


                                                             
                       
The Special Achievement Awards originated in 1991 as a way to recognize the individual efforts of on-site personnel, outstanding associate members and the outstanding communities in the Bay Area Apartment Association. These Special Achievement Awards were created to honor outstanding members, who by their participation, have had a positive impact on the apartment industry.  The first awards program  in February 1991 was an immediate success. All nominees were invited to attend and be recognized with an Honorable Mention Certificate and the winners were announced in Bayline magazine. Today, winners are still announced in Bayline magazine and the "Best of the Best" current year winners are shown on the Home page of the BAAA web-site.

Over the past twenty years, The Special Achievement Awards have become one of the most popular events BAAA hosts. Since 2010 the evening has become a ‘black tie’ optional evening with a gala atmosphere, a DJ to announce the winners and an "Oscar" type presentation. New for 2012 will be special ‘nominee’ and ‘winner’ lapel pins for every candidate. Winners will be able to exchange their nominee pin for a winners pin to wear proudly.

The 2012 Special Achievement Awards program will officially open on December 15, 2011; the deadline for nominations is February 17, 2012. Finalists will  be notified by February 24th and the winners will be announced at the 2012 Special Achievement Awards on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Westin Hotel on Harbour Island in Tampa.  All nominees and the person making the nomination will be entered into a drawing for an Apple I-Pad.  You must be present at the Special Achievement Awards to win. 

 

 New for 2012......

All nominations will be judged by an independent panel of Judges who have no ties with BAAA members. The judges will review the nominations and will select the winners based on the information provided.  No late nominations will be accepted due to the Judges schedule. Please include photographs and back up documents to insure that your nomination is complete.
